The Bend Medical Office Building & Surgery Center is a two-story, 46,900 SF building. The project was conceived by two growing Bend-based providers that wanted to improve patient care by offering greater surgical services and musculoskeletal care. The new facility provides a single destination for orthopedic diagnosis, treatment, physical therapy, and full-service ambulatory surgery.

The first floor of the facility houses Desert Orthopedics, a seven-person orthopedic practice with an MRI suite as well as Rebound Physical Therapy. The second floor houses the Bend Surgery Center. The surgery center includes four operating rooms, two endoscopy rooms, one multi-procedure room, and one laser exam room. The recovery area includes nine pre-op rooms, eight Phase 1 recovery rooms, six Phase 2 recovery areas, and two private recovery isolation rooms.

Separate entries are provided for first and second-floor access with a drive-under canopy at the surgery center entrance. The 2.83-acre landscaped site includes a pedestrian plaza with seating and artwork located near the first-floor entrance. In addition to ample auto parking, bicycle parking is also provided.

NexCore Group developed the project under a turnkey structure, owning the project during construction and selling it to a joint venture of physician partners who are tenants in the building upon completion of the facility. NexCore also assisted the physician partnership in securing its permanent financing.

What Our Clients Say

“The big thing that made NexCore stand out from other developers is that they understood ambulatory facilities; they understood clinical operations... NexCore came in immediately with some ideas that we had not thought of that configured the building in a way that was far better than we were anticipating.”
