NexCore Group develops, owns and operates senior living communities. NexCore identified an underserved market opportunity in Anderson, IN.

NexCore’s scope of work on the Sugar Fork Crossing Assisted Living & Memory Care center included strategic planning, design innovation to increase operational efficiencies, and the development of a state-of-the-art facility. The community focuses on hospitality rather than sterile institutional settings to create an inviting residential design embodying the values of the Anderson community with architectural features including barn doors, a gambrel roof, and wrought iron light fixtures.

The open floor plan within the memory care unit provides caregivers a direct sightline from their desk for operational safety and staffing efficiency. The facility encourages resident engagement with the inclusion of activity areas, sensory gardens, life stations, lounge areas, a bistro, and a front porch. To promote residence independence and provide the highest level of care, the team implemented resident alert products, electronic medication administration record keeping, and WIFI.

Completed in November 2017, the Sugar Fork Crossing Assisted Living & Memory Care facility met the objectives of lowering occupancy costs, providing first-class operating models, and creating the best value for residents and their families.
